I would love to work with other singers and musicians on my new album project. And looking further ahead, I’d love to collaborate with any theatre directors, actors, authors and/or choreographers on a musical. Contact me if you’re interested.
Motor Ballet fans on jango.com are use to seeing a new song posted about every two months. I’ve decided to break that pattern in favor of producing a batch of songs (9 or more) that will comprise an album. I’m well into that process but a release date is still hard to predict.
By all means, join the fan list.
There will be perks, but they will not include fine patio furniture and/or small farm animals.
I never write the lyrics first.
Usually I start with the chord progression that I work out on my piano.
I then create a singable melody.
Then I find words and phrases that naturally match the rhythm of the melody.
I reinforce whatever imagery those initial bits inspire.
So what are the lyrics about?
None of them are love songs.
For me they fall into several possible categories:
–Wacky conspiracy theories that date back centuries
–Questionable advice from doctors and/or psychiatrists
–Movies or musicals that never got made or did but remain obscure
Feel free to suggest what you think Motor Ballet songs are about.
